Tipplers Wet area

Council is planning a licensed facility for Tipplers however in the meantime a ‘wet area’ has been established at the Tradewinds building next to the Tipplers Kiosk.
'Wet areas' are typically public spaces approved for the consumption of alcohol.
What are the rules of the 'wet area'
A few rules have been established to ensure drinkers and non-drinkers can equally enjoy the picnic grounds:
- alcohol may only be consumed in the designated 'wet area'
- alcohol may only be consumed between 11am and sundown and only on weekends, public holidays and school holidays Everyone is encouraged to enjoy themselves at the Tipplers Hub but please be mindful of your neighbours and drink responsibly.
Licensed facility
The licensed facility for the Tipplers Hub will be a central and social meeting place for visitors.
Consultation feedback showed many people would like to enjoy a drink when visiting the Tipplers Hub. This suggested improvement was supported by overall feedback which recorded ‘eating and drinking’ as the most common activity among the island’s visitors. Council is getting on with the planning for the licensed facility.
The facility will be family friendly and take advantage of the tranquil views of the Tipplers Passage while providing meals and drinks to patrons.
Throughout the Tipplers Hub area, Council intends to keep all development low-key so that the impact on the surrounding environs is limited.
